The Western Union Foundation receives support from The Western Union Company, its employees, agents and business partners. We strategically deploy these resources to expand our reach and extend the impact of our work, through volunteering, co-branded promotions and direct donations.
As Western Union employees, the Western Union Foundation is OUR foundation, and we're proud of the work it does. We want to be involved whether it's giving money or volunteering because it reflects who we are as a company.
Jodie Madden, Director of Retail Strategy, Innovation, Marketing Communications and Training, Western Union
WU Gives is an initiative that empowers Western Union employees to nominate NGOs in their local region for Western Union Foundation funding. A team of employee volunteers reviews the nominations and selects a final list of NGOs to receive grants. There are two WU Gives funding cycles each year, each providing up to USD $115,000 total to one or more organizations.

Employees in Action
After Western Union and the Western Union Foundation announced a renewed commitment to our Denver, Colorado hometown including a USD $1 million contribution from the Western Union Foundation to a range of Denver-area nonprofits the Western Union Foundation launched a special day of volunteering with a team of nearly 300 Western Union employees fanning out across the city to contribute their energy to the work of 16 local organizations. Volunteers did everything from folding and organizing donated clothing at A Precious Child to digging trenches for a community garden at Johnson Boys & Girls Club. “Western Union is so much more than a business, as leaders and employees contribute to our communities beyond the services they provide”, said Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper.
